Art Docent Program
The PTA is so excited to bring the Art Docent Program to Honey Dew for the first time this year! The Art Docent program's purpose is to support the state's Visual Arts Grade Level Expectations K - 5, the Common Core, 21st Century Thinking Skills and Habits of Mind while offering students a positive experience with art by exposing them to various materials and artists. They introduce the elements and principles of art, art vocabulary, safety, art criticism, art history, and art's intersection with culture. Students gain essential experience being creative in an open-ended environment.
This incredible program is run entirely by volunteers so we need your help to make it a success!
Volunteers typically volunteer once a month teaching an art lesson using the provided lesson and materials. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please complete the form by clicking the box or email artdocent@honeydewPTA.org. We are in need of just a few more volunteers to make sure every class has an art docent!

El propósito del programa Art Docent es apoyar las Expectativas de Nivel de Grado de Artes Visuales del estado K-5, el Common Core, las Habilidades de Pensamiento del Siglo XXI y los Hábitos Mentales mientras ofrece a los estudiantes una experiencia positiva con el arte al exponerlos a varios materiales y artistas.
