President
I was born and raised in Renton, WA and attended Renton Schools K-12. I am a busy, working mom of 4 kids, 1 in high school, 1 in middle school, and 2 in elementary. Unfortunately this will be my last year at Honey Dew since the boundary changes put my family at the new school, which my younger daughter is now attending. Since my older daughter is in 5th grade this year, she decided she wanted to finish out at Honey Dew. This will be my 2nd and last year as President of the PTA, having previously served as Vice President. Please join the PTA and get involved for any amount of time you can give!

Nací y crecí en Renton, WA y asistí a Renton Schools K-12. Soy una mamá ocupada y trabajadora de 4 hijos, 1 en la escuela secundaria, 1 en la escuela intermedia y 2 en la primaria. Desafortunadamente, este será mi último año en Honey Dew ya que los cambios de límites pusieron a mi familia en la nueva escuela, a la que ahora asiste mi hija menor. Como mi hija mayor está en quinto grado este año, decidió que quería terminar en Honey Dew. I am a kindergarten teacher at Honey Dew and I am so excited by the work of the Honey Dew PTA! As the proud daughter of an amazing "PTA Mom", I am passionate about the work that PTA does to support students and families. In addition to my responsibilities at Honey Dew, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Arthur and new baby girl, Gemma!

When my daughter started kindergarten, I didn't really get why the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was a big deal. But things have changed a lot in the past 5 years. I went from just being a regular parent having no idea what the PTA does for our community, to being the Co-President, then Vice President, and now I'm the Treasurer of the PTA. I'm all in when it comes to getting involved. The whole community vibe we've built at Honey Dew Elementary means a ton to me. I'm so excited to connect with incoming members of the Honey Dew community, while sustaining the connections with those who have been part of our journey for years. When I'm not wearing my PTA hat, you can find me running at a park, a trail, or weightlifting at our local gym. When not dedicated to these activities, my family and I are total travel junkies. We're all about chasing the sun and hitting up warm places whenever we can.

​Cuando mi hija comenzó el jardín de infantes, realmente no entendía por qué la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA, por sus siglas en inglés) era tan importante. Pero las cosas han cambiado mucho en los últimos 5 años. Pasé de ser un padre normal sin tener idea de lo que la PTA hace por nuestra comunidad, a ser el copresidente, luego el vicepresidente y ahora soy el tesorero de la PTA. Estoy de acuerdo cuando se trata de involucrarme. Todo el ambiente de comunidad que hemos construido en Honey Dew Elementary significa mucho para mí. Estoy muy emocionada de conectarme con los miembros entrantes de la comunidad Honey Dew, mientras mantengo las conexiones con aquellos que han sido parte de nuestro viaje durante años. Cuando no estoy usando mi gorra de la PTA, puede encontrarme corriendo en un parque, un sendero o levantando pesas en nuestro gimnasio local. Cuando no nos dedicamos a estas actividades, mi familia y yo somos adictos a los viajes. Nos dedicamos a perseguir el sol y visitar lugares cálidos siempre que podemos.
